Coordinating volunteer projects is one of the many ways the Peninsula
Humane Foundation provides support to local animal care organizations.
We love our volunteers!

The Peninsula Humane Foundation is currently managing a volunteer
team that provides full-service care for cats on display at the
Newport News PETCO. This includes cleaning cat apartments and
providing playtime and TLC!
While
outside their apartments, some kitties like to run, jump and play!
Others like to visit the birds and hamsters. Some simply prefer
to sit in a warm lap and purr ... but no matter how they choose
to spend their time, every kitty looks forward to seeing their
volunteers!
Most volunteers take a once-weekly shift; however, other schedules
can be accommodated. We also maintain a team of substitutes who
fill in when shifts are vacant. Subs are especially helpful during
holidays, spring break, and summer.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to work
without supervision. Children between the ages of 7-17 are welcome
with a parent - we love parent and child teams! Volunteers are
needed to serve for a minimum of 4 months or an agreed upon
period of time (ex. a semester, summer, etc.)
